Hi there, I have some questions about installing os x on x86 machines. I bourght me a new notebook (Samsung X60 with sata drive, intel core duo prozessor, bluetooth, wifi a/b/g, V.92 modem, gb lan, ati x1600 and a 15,4' wsxga+ glare tft with resolution of 1.680 x 1.050 pixel) and want to put mac os x tiger on it. But I am a complete newbee in mac os x and all these hints here are a little bit confusing. Because Apple quit releasing full retail versions of Snow Leopard with 10.6.3. This creates a Mac OS X Install DVD 10.6.7.cdr ('.cdr' extension). Mar 20, 2018 - Results 1 - 48 of 220 - Apple sold several versions of Tiger at retail, culminating with a 10.4.6 full install DVD. These discs will work on all. What I want to have: A bootable DVD with integrated 10.4.5 update and all aviable os updates (I think it should work with my hardware), if possible also 10.4.6 update (because its the newest one ). If the os is then in german it will be fine. So what have I to do and what will I need to get it working? In 'windows world' you can make a unattended setup to integrate all updates. How is it solved with osx? Edit: Ok, I think first of all I need the recover DVD (version 10.4.4) bourght with all new Intel Macs. Than I have to use a patch from maxxuss (?) to disable the tpm instructions? Where can I find the patch? Sems that its hard to get one. And while I am patching I can also insert the SSE3to2 and AMD patch (even if I don't need them because I have a Intel Centrino Duo with SSE3)? Now I can download the 10.4.5 or 10.4.6 patch for Intel from Apple. But how to integrate it in the install dvd? What's about Security Update 2006-001 and -002? Download it both or just the 002 (because 001 is here integrated?)? Do I need them when using the 10.4.6 update? And how do I integrate them in the installation dvd? Ok, at the moment I think, I have to get a osx 10.4.4 Intel recover dvd and the 10.4.6 DVD Patch from JaS. Also I need a working osx version installed (maybe a vmware one) to compile the patch into the restore dvd. After that I receive a fully working osx 10.4.6 installation dvd (for Intel with SSE3). That's the minimal 'wanna have'. Nice would be a dvd where I can select during installation process if I want to install 10.4.5 update, security update 2006-001, -002 or 10.4.6 update. And If I also want to install any other patch out there (SSE3to2, AMD enabler.). Hi there, I have some questions about installing os x on x86 machines. You are right, it is darn hard figuring out where to start by browsing these forums. And it's not covered well in the wiki. Those 'in the know' get it figured out, then seem to move on with not much sympathy for newcomers.
